P2002 Sierra De Luxe
To design the P2002 Sierra Tecnam has made use of the most advanced systems of 3D design, fluid dynamics and structural analysis, resulting in one of the best two-seater low wing aircraft in its category. Tapered laminar flow wing, sloned flaps, up turned wing tips and a streamlined fuselage give to the P2002 superlative performance, a complete harmony of controls and style.
The resulting product is a symphony of aerodynamic and structure effectiveness with graceful, fluid flight. Designed with the pilot in mind, this aircraft will delight even the most discerning pilot while still keeping the inexperienced pilot safe and comfortable.
The sliding canopy allows 360° of vision from the cockpit. This can be opened in flight up to 70 knots.
The all moving Stabilator is fined with a trim tab controlled by bunons on the control column.
The excellent flying characteristic with neutral handling makes it extremely stable and easy to fly for people of any weight/height.
The ailerons are effective in allowing for a quick roll rate without being overly sensitive. All control surfaces are made out of aluminium. The canopy has full rollover protection.
Construction

The Tecnam line employs a monocoque construction style using sheet aluminium over steel tubing.
The wing is all aluminium and constructed in a conventional way with a single spar and metaeal torsion box.
The leading edges of the wings and are easily detachable for repairs.
The fuel tanks are each 13.2 gal/50 lt and are located in the leading edge separated from the fuselage for safety.
The sliding canopy allows 360° of vision in the cockpit.
The all-moving tailplane provides remarkable longitudinal hands-off stability along with minimum drag and weight penalty providing balanced, 2 finger, flight control.
The wide slotted flaps, electrically activated, allow stall speeds lower than 36 Kts.
The Sierra has 38 degrees of flaps making steep approach landings easier.
The all aluminium ailerons are effective in allowing for a quick roll rate without being overly sensitive.
All control surfaces are made out of aluminium.
The canopy has full rollover protection.
 
Interior And Outdoor

Seats are adjustable in flight and increase in height as they are moved forward.
The luggage area allowing for 44 pounds/20 kg of weight is located behind the seats with ample room for several travel bags.
All Tecnam aircraft have dual control sticks with a curve at the base for ease of ingress and egress.
The dual controls come standard with PTT and electric stabilator trim on the stick with a trim indicator on the panel.
The interior is spacious, ergonomic and comfortable.
Dual throttles allow the pilot to fly either left or right handed.
Throttle quadrant with single throttle design.
The fresh air vents are conveniently located on the panel.
All Tecnam aircraft provide excellent forward visibility over the cowling.
The planes come with dual conventional rudder pedals with a steerable nose wheel.
The wide instrument panel is designed to accommodate a full variety of instrumentation, from a standard 6 pack to fully integrated EFIS installations.
The all new instrument panel is modular for ease of avionics installations.
Cabin is a roomy 44 in/112 cm wide.
Four point harness system is standard.
 
Landing Gear

The main landing gear is aluminium alloy that is robust enough for unimproved strips and requires no service.
The trailing link nose gear uses a rubber shock absorber system that was designed for the rigours of the training environment.
The main landing gear wheels and brakes are conventional aircraft size(5.00x5).
Toe brakes are available as an option.
The brake lever control is located forward between the seats.
A parking brake is between the seats and is actuated by use of a single twist.
 
Engine And Propeller

The top and bottom engine cowls are quickly and easily removed making any maintenance procedure faster to accomplish.
The top cowl has 2 large hinged openings for easy access to the engine compartment for effective pre-flight inspections.
The engine is mount is Cro-Moly steel-tubing with shock mounts.
The firewall is soundproofed.
The power plant is a Rotax 912 ULS2 series (100 Hp) four-cylinder, four-stroke engine.
The engine is a liquid and air cooled engine with an integrated 1:2.4286 reduction gear.
A fixed pitch wood and composite comes standard.
The quick drain gascolator is installed in the engine compartment with easy access. A back-up electrical pump engages if mechanical fuel pump is out.
The engine installation allows for the addition of a 40 Ah external alternator.
